PROGRAM & GRANT EVALUATION VITA

The Foundation utilizes the services of prominent educational leaders and experienced consultants in providing research designed evaluations. The following represents the scope and variety of evaluations performed by Foundation consultants:

Michigan Department of Education: 1) State-wide Evaluation of All Student Achievement Program - Literacy Achievement Program (ASAP-LAP) - Evaluation of public schools reading programs in 110 districts. 2) Project evaluator, Project Synergy, Multi-State Grant. Evaluation of federally funded grant to ensure equal educational opportunity for migrant children, designed research to assess student learning resulting from use of technologically supported interventions. 3) ASAP-LAP Grant - data entry and reporting of signification data. 4) At invitation of Dr. Philip Runkle, then Superintendent of Public Instruction, served on special referent task force to evaluate state's technology plan. 5) Member of evaluation team relative to state's professional development plan.

Grand Valley State University: Evaluation of student academic success in selected schools.

Orchard View Schools: 1) Evaluator for Even Start Grant. 2) Evaluator for 21st Century Learning Centers Grant. 3) Technology Grant: Implementation and Technology Skill Development in Youth and Senior Citizens. 4) Evaluation of student dropout patterns and academic success of hard to serve students resulting the formation of the state's first alternative education program. 5) Evaluation of the alternative education program employing a longitudinal study of students placed in the program. 6) Evaluated student success when placed in adult high school program.

Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District: Facilitator for independent review of delivery of special education programs and services with the Traverse Bay Intermediate School District.

White Lake Community Schools - Even Start Grant Evaluation.

Van Buren Intermediate School District: 1) Evaluator for ASAP-PIE Grant. 2) Evaluated staff development program for eleven (11) districts within the intermediate school district. 3) Evaluator for Vocational/Technical Center Project. 4) Evaluator of Bangor Public Schools/Van Buren Intermediate School District Career Pathways Project. 5) Graduate Follow-up Studies. 6) Grant Writer - 21st Century Learning Centers Grant.

Allegan County Intermediate School District: 1) Evaluator of ASAP-SSP Grant.

Allegan County and Allegan Intermediate School District Byrne Memorial Formula Grant: Evaluator for the juvenile rehabilitation grant to reduce drug abuse through a comprehensive community approach

Michigan Civics Institute: Formulated and conducted a survey of Michigan social studies teachers to extract information the Institute deemed appropriate to further the mission of the Institute and assist in future planning.

Berrien County Intermediate School District: Program evaluator for McKinney Grant (Safe Shelter).

Chatfield School: Evaluator of district's multiage educational program.

Galien Public Schools: Evaluator for technology grant.

Plainwell Community Schools: Evaluator of district multiage educational program.

Hartford Public Schools: Evaluator of ASAP-SSP Grant.

Oakridge Public Schools: 1) 21st Century Learning Centers Grant Evaluation. 2) Early Childhood Program School Culture/School Climate Study. 3) Evaluation of high school programs.

Eastern Upper Peninsula Intermediate Schools: Evaluated technical and vocational education programs for eleven schools and 2,400 graduates.

Flint Community Schools: Evaluation of Impact of HOST Literacy Program and Tutorial Program for Children and Adults.

North Muskegon Public Schools: Evaluation with recommendation of middle school science curriculum.

Holland Public Schools: 1) Evaluated success of hard to serve students placed in pull out programs. 2) Provided a longitudinal study of migrant/bilingual students relative to academic success and effect of summer school programs.

Holland West Ottawa Public Schools: 1) Evaluation of community satisfaction with district schools and programs. 2) Evaluation of programs designed to reduce dropout rate and improve academic performance of at risk students. 3) Evaluation of district's early childhood program with attention to educational needs of young fives. 4) Evaluation of district's alternative education and adult high school programs.

Saugatuck Public Schools: Evaluation of academic success of single parent populations.

Bellaire Public Schools: 1) Evaluated district's technology plan and academic success of high school students. 2) Evaluated academic success of college bound students and college completion of students involved in advanced placement classes while in high school.

Lincoln Alcona Community Schools: 1) Evaluated district's technology plan. 2) Evaluate technology based, at risk program for hard to serve high school students. 3) Evaluated math and science instructional programs at elementary and middle school levels.

South Haven Public Schools: 1) Evaluated high school and middle school discipline and student retention programs. 2) Evaluated elementary at risk programs. 3) Evaluated academic and social success of students in multi-age program. 4) Evaluated middle school instructional program.

Muskegon Public Schools: 1) Evaluated middle school alternative education program for at risk students. 2) Evaluated Title I Elementary "Lunch and Learn" program for at risk students.

Easter Upper Peninsula Intermediate Schools: Evaluated technical and vocational education program for eleven schools and 2,400 students.
